"Police in Laval, Que. ... have filed a $2-million lawsuit against a man acquitted in the shooting death of one of their officers."
"Basil Parasiris was the first Canadian ever cleared of a murder charge in the death of a police officer. Det.-Sgt. Daniel Tessier was killed during a botched raid at Parasiris’ south-shore home in March 2007."
"A jury later acquitted Parasiris of first-degree murder, accepting his claim that he had fired in self-defence during the pre-dawn raid."
"He said that he thought he was being attacked by robbers, claiming that Tessier was dressed in dark clothing and did not identify himself."
"But Laval police want Parasiris to pay material damages for the death of their employee." ... |

| Whoever is involved in filing this suit should be re-introduced to Tessier. |

| He was very fortunate to find an honest judge. There are not many left after spending years working as lawyers. |

| The police need to stop raiding homes, especially at night, unless it's to save the life of a hostage. No phone call, no polite knock on the door, and as far as I'm concerned, you're some homicidal maniac gang and deserve what I send you. |
