Violent robber shot by his victim (IN)
OpSD --""Police say that a man was driving around, looking for an apartment to rent, in the vicinity of Fairfield and College avenues in Indianapolis, IN, when a robber approached him and demanded money. The man reportedly gave the robber $6, yet a struggle ensued. At this point, the man drew his handgun and fired one shot in self defense, striking the robber in the stomach and ending the attack, police say. ..."

 
Would-be robber shot by potential victim (OH)
OpSD --"Shawn Mitchell, 23, died behind 6121 Zumstein Dr. after being shot about 5a.m. Police said Mitchell was trying to rob a person in a parked car and was shot by that person. Police would not name the shooter but said evidence in the case will be given to a grand jury."

The homeowner freed himself, grabbed a gun and opened fire on the crooks. The suspects fled the scene, but 30 minutes later Osceola County deputies received a call about a body in front of a vacant home ..."

ADA: Man shot likely in 'self-defense' (AL)
OpSD --“It appears at this stage the actions of the shooter were in self defense,” Anderson said. “There has been from what I understand a history of calls (to the police department) from the female in prior occasions regarding the male.” Anderson said there is a 10-year-old witness to the crime who confirmed the shooter had been struck by Jones.

 
Woman uses railroad spike in self-defense (MO)
OpSD --The homeowner didn't have a baseball bat, a gun, or a kitchen knife handy to defend herself when police say Dover tried to break in, so she grabbed the first thing she saw; it just happened to be an old railroad spike! She says she hit Dover once in the head, and it was enough to keep her and her roommate safe.
